St. Lucia

St. Lucia is the island travellers dream about - a small, lush tropical gem that is still relatively unknown.  Its dramatic twin coastal peaks, the Pitons, soar 2,000 feet up from the sea, sheltering magnificent rain forests where wild orchids, giant ferns, and birds of paradise flourish.  The rain forest is broken only by verdant fields and orchards of banana, coconut, mango and papaya trees.
St. Lucia is highly regarded as a romantic retreat, honeymoon and wedding destination.  Most of the hotels in St. Lucia provide special facilities for couples getting married on the island; some will also provide a private room or suite for the ceremony, if you prefer.

Despite St. Lucia’s intimate scale, the island offers guests a variety of different accommodations.  Individual choices depend upon what sort of atmosphere and activity guests most desire.

Wedding Requirements:
  • Once you have resided in St. Lucia for 2 days, a local Solicitor can apply for a license on your behalf.  You need to have received this for 2 working days prior to the ceremony date.
  • Valid Passports.
  • Birth Certifcate.
  • Decree Absolute (if one of the parties is divorced).
  • In the case of a widow/widower a Death Certificate of first spouse is required.
  • If a name has been changed, a Deed Poll is required.
  • If one of the parties is under the age of 18, evidence of consent of parents is required in the form of a sworn affidavit stamped by a Notary Public.
  • If any required documents are not in English, an authenticated translation must be available.
